Pop Goes Theology
When the illiteracy of self-styled pastors and Biblical literalists engenders hate and condemnation in the world, religion has become too important for the public to ignore. In exploring the Bible – its writing, redaction & reinterpretation – this blog does not intend to advance a particular theology or take sides in any debate. Rather, it labours to bring an informed perspective to a book that has been abused by those who claim to revere it (without understanding it) creating misery for others in the process, impeding science, undermining intellectual advancement, and setting people against each other.
